The girls are out of school, so I guess summer vacation has officially begun. š I’m looking forward to warm summer days, lazy weekend afternoons chasing the girls at the beach and picnics with friends and family. And yes, we do experience seasons in Southern California, as minute as those differences may be to outsiders!
The Heavy Purse was mentioned in the following places last week: Eyes on the Dollar, Broke Millennial, Debtblag, Are Ya Gonna Eat That, Budget and the Beach, Budget Blonde, Enemy of Debt, Canadian Budget Binder, The Frugal Farmer, Girl Meets Debt and Stacking Benjamins. Thank you for your support! I truly appreciate it. If I missed you, please let me know so I can add you to the list.
Here are my favorite posts from the past week, so grab a beverage and enjoy!
The Frugal Farmer created a powerful and compelling intro, How and Why You Should Get Out of Debt, to her four-part series on debt.
I love this post, Excuses or Choices, from Kim at Eyes on the Dollar. To me, money is about choices and debt robs people of their power to choose.
Tony from We Only Do This Once asked a provocative question Are Rich People Smarter than You?. Rich people (and I don’t mean those who necessarily have the most money) know how to use their money wisely on the things that matter most.
John at Frugal Rules wants to know How You Define Smart? He questions whether the Great Recession has truly made people more financially savvy, given how low we continue to score on financial literacy quizzes.
Cat at Budget Blonde shared How to Avoid the Quarter Life Crisis and I love how she turned a “crisis” into an opportunity.
Mr. CBB at Canadian Budget Binder had a great post on How We Quit Comparing Financial Numbers. We’ve all been guilty of comparing ourselves to others, and I love how they broke the cycle and instead focused on what really mattered – living the life they wanted for themselves.
And finally, Tonya at Budget and the Beach, shares some Random Thoughts about Coming Home that certainly made me smile. A great way to end the week.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
