Unusual Christmas Traditions #Infographic

Christmas Infographic

In just a little over a week, Santa will begin his journey to fill the stockings of all the good boys and girls. To celebrate, I found this fun infographic that highlights some of the more unusual Christmas traditions Santa encounters as he travels the globe. Since I’m a huge fan of family traditions during the holidays, it was interesting to see how others celebrate around the world.

Santa definitely has a busy night (visiting more than 800 homes per second!) and a lot of customs to follow as well. Because we certainly wouldn’t want Santa to lose his license to fly in Greece due to being poorly dressed, although I’m sure Mrs. Claus would never permit him to leave the North Pole looking bad. 🙂

What tradition or custom surprised you or made you laugh the hardest? Do you have any “strange” holiday customs?

This is funny! I think the checking under cars for kids before starting them is pretty wild, I can't imagine why you would find kids under your car.

I know! I would certainly hope they wouldn't play under there!

Awww I love reading about other cultures' traditions. In Mexico, we only get small gifts from Santa Claus. The good stuff comes from the Three Wise Men! Each child leaves one shoe in the window on January 5, and the morning of the 6th, gifts arrive. :)

If I ever saw a Sasquatch, forget about trying to kill him, I would run for my life!

In 2008 I was in Bangkok for Christmas. Less than 1% of people there celebrate, but Xmas decorations were everywhere!

That's very interesting, Stefanie. I wonder why they decorate so heavily with so few celebrating the holiday. But I guess it looked festive! :)

The Venezuela tradition sounds fun! There are definitely some weird traditions in the US so it's great to hear we aren't alone ;)

No, we're certainly not alone! I love learning about how everyone celebrates the holiday. And it would be pretty fun to roller skate to Mass!
