We’re headed into the final weekend before Christmas. It has been a jam-packed month and I really missed that extra week we usually have between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. The girls, on the other hand, love how quickly December has flown by. Of course, when you are a child, Christmas can never come soon enough. š
This week I shared with you how Giving and Gratitude Make Christmas Truly Magical. It was great to see how many of you give back during the holiday season. Not only is it a great time of year to do so, but it really helps kids balance receiving with some intentional giving.
Special Thanks to Budget Blonde, Financially Blonde, The Random Path, More Money Than Month and I’m Every Woman Weekly for mentioning The Heavy Purse. I appreciate your support!
Here are a few of my favorite posts from the past week! Enjoy!
Kim at Eyes on the Dollar shared how life is One Year After Paying Off Credit Card Debt, and it’s pretty great. Kim also shares some excellent tips to help you from falling back into debt.
Laurie from The Frugal Farmer cautioned us to Beware of the Self-Justified Pity Party. Getting out of debt is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your family, but there will be some rough bumps along the way. Laurie does a great job of sharing how to turn it around when those days happen.
Michelle from Fit Is the New Poor had a great guest post about Moving In with Your Partner: The Financial Steps at Canadian Budget Binder. Nothing can put a crimp in a relationship faster than not sorting out your finances and financial responsibilities prior to moving in. Michelle outlined some great steps to follow.
Tonya at Budget at the Beach put together another great episode of BATB TV on the 12 Days of Budgets. Be sure to check it out but be forewarned—you’ll be singing it all day. š
I know many people travel over the holidays, which can be stressful for kids who worry whether Santa will find them. Carol from Let’s Get Deals Today has some great Tips to Help Santa Find Your Family. So many great ideas and some you can still do even if you are not traveling.
Well, that is a wrap for this week! Have a wonderful weekend!
