It’s hard to believe but we’re closing in on the halfway point of November. Thanksgiving is now less than two weeks away! š It’s funny how time is either moving at a snail’s pace or faster than a rocket. Are you ready for the holidays?
This week birthdays were on my mind as Lauren’s birthday is fast approaching. I went back in time and shared with you the first birthday budget Lauren handled and how she learned to create a magical birthday party on a budget. On Wednesday, I shared a great infographic as a reminder that birthday parties don’t need to be over-the-top to be good and to remember who the birthday party is actually for.
Special thanks to Budget and The Beach, The Finance Girl and Money Aware for sharing my posts this past week. I appreciate the support!
Here are my favorite posts from the past week, enjoy!
Tonya from Budget and The Beach had a great post on Self-Compassion and Resilience. She explained how our self-compassion and resilience affect our overall happiness. The good news is we can learn to be more compassionate towards ourselves and adjust our attitude, which can have a positive impact on our overall happiness.
The Frugalwoods confessed the 10 Shockingly Expensive Things We Own. The Frugalwoods may enjoy a frugal lifestyle, but they are also comfortable investing their money on the things that truly matter to them, which is a good lesson for all of us.
Travis over at Enemy of Debt gave his Apologies to Gazelle Intensity. He’d never warmed up to the concept of extreme deprivation in order to achieve a goal, but now he realized how a short-term, intense focus on a goal has its place.
Natalie aka The Finance Girl shared the 4 Elements of Change. Most of us have something in our life that we want to change and many of us struggle with implementing change in our lives. Natalie outlines the four steps that need to occur, and I recommend paying special attention to #2 if you want to avoid repeating mistakes.
Corina at Not Now Mom’s Busy shared Safety Tips for Kids. This infographic was a good reminder of safety precautions both parents and kids need to keep in mind and could be a great tool to help you talk to your kids about them.
Well, that’s a wrap for this week. Have a great weekend everyone!
