I’ve always been a firm believer in gratitude and recognizing one’s blessings every day. Some days it appears as though none exist and those are the days you need to look the hardest and give extra thanks. Thus, Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays, although we practice gratitude in our home every day.
There are literally hundreds of blessings I received throughout the past year, but I’d like to take a moment and reflect on the blessings that I am most grateful for this year.
Everything I do, I do for my family. Chris, Lauren and Taylor inspire me every day. I am proud to be their wife and Mom. Like every family, we have our share of ups and downs, but one thing I know for sure is that our home is always rich with love. I am truly blessed with an amazing family and network of supportive, beautiful friends. #ThankYou
Not everyone gets to live their passion and I definitely recognize and appreciate my good fortune. Nothing makes me happier than to help my clients regain power over their money and rebuild a new, positive relationship with money. To see that shift take place is amazing to witness. I am so honored to play a role in helping my clients find their money happiness.
It’s certainly an imperfect world with problems from hunger, poverty, terror, Ebola and more. And yet, I have such optimism and hope for the future because there are so many caring people who seek to improve this world and leave it in a better place. I know because I am one of those individuals. Within my local community, I feel so blessed to connect and interact with so many people rallying to do good and impart change.
This year I released my second children’s book, The Lemonade Stand. These books are a passion project of mine and I am so pleased to be able to share them with you. Thanks to my many wonderful friends in the personal finance community, I was able to reach so many people. I appreciate everyone’s support through buying books or promoting my book on your blog through a review or guest post. The gift of financial literacy is one of the most powerful and impactful gifts you can give your child. It will make a huge difference in their life. Thank you again for your support of my mission.
Everyone has busy lives these days and the fact that you choose to spend a portion of your day reading The Heavy Purse and sharing my content means the world to me. I didn’t fully know what to expect when I launched The Heavy Purse, but connecting with so many people hungry to become financially literate and eager to teach their kids about money, gives me such great hope for the future.
One of our holiday traditions is to go around the table and have everyone share something they are thankful this year. It always warms my heart and I hope your Thanksgiving — and every day — is full of blessings. What are you most grateful for this year?
In gratitude,
