The Christmas countdown has begun and the big day will be here before you know it. There is always so much to do, including decorating. We’ll be celebrating in our first Christmas in our new home, which is exciting. Of course, it just seems like I found a place for everything and now need to dig out my Christmas decorations. Let’s hope I remember where I put everything! Regardless of how busy this time of year is, decorating the house and our Christmas tree is one of my favorite family traditions.
Every year I like to give a new ornament to Lauren and Taylor to hang on our tree. Typically the ornament either symbolizes a special moment from the past year or is from a place we visited. When the girls leave home, the ornaments will go with them and help decorate their future Christmas tree. Every ornament speaks to a moment in their life, and I love knowing some day they will recall those special stories with their children. This is one of our favorite decorating traditions.
The folks over at Terry Fabrics invited me to share this lovely infographic they created showcasing unique outdoor holiday decorations. Lots of great, easy ideas and I particularly love #10 and #13. Best of all, many of these ideas could easily be DIY projects with your family and become a new holiday tradition.
Which decoration is your favorite? Are you finished decorating for Christmas? What kinds of outdoor decorations do you use?
The holidays provide ample opportunities to teach kids about money while you create long-lasting family traditions. Here are few posts you may have missed:
